Science
by Timothy Liu (5th grade)
Science is the lifeblood
of almost everything.
From digging a hole,
to plucking a string.
Science can be simple,
as simple as can be,
yet it can be complex
like string theory.
Science holds up
almost everything.
Yet, we don't notice it,
like a tiny little flea.
But if science would disappear,
we wouldn't be here.
Science is what makes us
what we are today.
Like when a rocket
blasts up up and away.
And even though this poem is over,
science will keep going
like an unstoppable rover.

Clock
A clock hangs on
a lone wall.
It sits there quietly,
ticking constantly.
ticking constantly.
It shows the time.
Yet, it goes unnoticed
though it’s worth
a lot more than dime.
It keeps the world moving,
as people look at the time.

September
September is the ninth month of the year.
It means that fall is finally here.
It is the eak of the hurricane season,
and when leaves fall for many reasons.
It is my friend’s birthday,
and a lot shorter days.
As temperatures begin to drop,
all the animals jump and hop.
Summer draws to a close
like a red dying rose.
But September has to be over,
and give way to the October rover.
